Kevin Leflar is the Co-founder, President and CEO of The Official Community Corporation – officialCOMMUNITY – officialCOMMUNITY empowers established recording artists including James Taylor, Santana, Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits, George Michael, Celine Dion and Lyle Lovett to acquire, serve and connect their fans as lifelong, direct customers and community members.
officialCOMMUNITY conduct direct sales in the artist's name through their official website using only their brand. Our artist teams manage the official social media presence and operate as stewards of the artists brand online.

Mr. Leflar has an extensive background both as a technologist and consultant, and as a musician and music industry innovator.

Prior to the launch of officialCOMMUNITY, Mr. Leflar co-founded and served as Vice President and General Manager at InDIMENSIONS (now www.primal.com), an online media development and management company, where he was responsible for the development of new business, clients, communications and technical infrastructure. From 1994 until its sale in 1998 to EcomPark Inc., he worked at North American Media Engines (NAME), a professional services consulting firm that specialized in distance learning, finance middleware and content management systems. His role at NAME included project and corporate accounts management.

Mr. Leflar also has a comprehensive background in the Canadian music industry. He began his career circling the globe with multiple Juno award-winning artists such as Blue Rodeo and the Sattallites. While the Tour Manager for Artist Consulting Team/Risqué Disque, he managed contract fulfillment, tour production and personnel management. He then parlayed that experience into personal and business management for several major label recording artists at Childsplay/Boom Town Music. There, he demonstrated his expertise in contract negotiations for business activities such as product distribution, music publishing rights and live appearances.

While a tour, personal and business manager, Mr. Leflar was compelled to get involved in two organizations dedicated to improving the profile and rights of Canadian musicians. At the first, Music Managers Forum, as Chairman, he represented the collective interests of major label recording artists in negotiations with associations and governments where he appeared in front of the Canadian Copyright Board. At the second organization, Canadians Showcasing Internationally, as General Manager, he worked with the Canadian government and consulates around the world as the Canadian Ambassador of Music.

Mr. Leflar has become one of Canada’s best-known authorities on the impact of digital technology on the music industry. He is highly sought for speaking engagements both in Canada and internationally for organizations including The Billboard Touring Conference – NYC, Transmit China - Shanghai, The Great Escape - Brighton, The Junior Chamber International Canada (JCI), Toronto Venture Group (TVG), Canadian Music Week (CMW), North by Northeast (NXNE), Canadian Music Week (CMW), North by Northeast (NXNE), The Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC), BBC Radio 1, SXSW, Manitoba Audio Recording Industry Association (MARIA), Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association (SRIA), Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia (MIANS) and Multimedia Software and Internet Trade Mission at the Montreal Board of Trade.

Mr. Leflar also served on the board of directors for The Unison Benevolent Fund and is an esteemed member of organizations such as The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), The International Ticketing Association (INTIX), The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), The Association of Internet Marketers and Sales (AIMS), and The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO).

He has been quoted in national publications such as the Globe & Mail, Profit Magazine, Report on Business Magazine, Billboard Magazine, and interviewed on Toronto’s 680 News Radio and international music blog Hypebot. He has also been quoted in the book Money Magnet by Jacoline Loewen (Wiley Books 2008).

In 2009 officialCOMMUNITY was #39 appearing for the first time on the Profit 100 list for 2000% growth in five years. In 2011, officialCOMMUNITY appeared for a second time at #15. In 2006, Mr. Leflar was honoured with the Victor Award for the “Best CPC Qualifying Transaction” at the Canadian Venture Forum (CVF).
