Executive Director
Peter Bell is a seasoned nonprofit executive and a lover of jazz. In his “day job,” Bell is President & CEO of Dworbell, Inc., a Washington, DC-based organizational consulting firm that provides comprehensive association management services to several national nonprofit trade associations in the fields of community development, affordable housing, aging services and retirement finance. Dworbell, Inc., a 37 year-old company, is known for its highly entrepreneurial approach to managing nonprofits.

In the jazz world, Bell is a past member of the Board of Directors of Telluride Society for Jazz and served terms as the organization’s treasurer and president. Bell has also been a Board member for the DC Jazz Festival in our nation’s capital. He is currently Secretary of the Western Jazz Presenters Network, an association of festivals and other jazz presenters  located throughout the western U.S.

Bell brings to TSJ a deep background in financial and organizational management of nonprofit entities, coupled with an appreciation for music of all genre and a particular passion for jazz. He has been involved in the Telluride festival, as a volunteer, board member, corporate officer and sponsor for 20+ years. He has served as Executive Director since June 2017 and does so on a pro-bono basis, contributing his time, knowledge, contacts and business acumen to the Society.
